Leave Your Blogging Link!

A few weeks ago, we found ourselves on the unanticipated journey of domestic adoption. We thought we were on our way to Ethiopia for our little one, but the Lord had other plans! (Go here to read more of our story!) Since embarking on domestic adoption, I have found it to be a bit more difficult to connect with other "domestic" families on the adoption blogging sphere! Many international agencies have support groups, listserves and other ways to encourage fellow adoptive families, plus u-tube is filled with international "Gottcha Day" videos. However, on the domestic side of things....it seems to be more difficult to connect with families in the process. So, I decided to start a little site in hopes of connecting families on the journey AND advocating for children needing homes within the States! If you are in the process of a domestic adoption, leave your link! I am working on a blogroll of domestic families and reputable agencies..... I'd love any insight or experiences you have!

If you are or have adopted domestically, leave your link so we can all "meet"!

  1. Thank you so much for this idea! It's a great way for families adopting through domestic adoption to connect and help each other.

  2. Hello! I noticed your sewing fundraiser project. You should build a site on Etsy.com too! You'll reach a larger market of people interested in buying homemade products! And its cheap to host there. Just a thought! :)

  3. Our family is a domestic transracial family (: Any questions let me know. Great site, we need to bring on the awarness. Nobody can believe we adopted Lauren from US. Then I tell them there are tons of AA Children that are hard to place.

  4. Stephanie,
This is a great idea! Though I can't speak to the domestic adoption process, I've left the link to my blog above about fundraising ideas, many of which I know are used by families looking to raise money to adopt a child domestically or internationally. I'd love for it to be part of this great community you're helping to create.

    All the best,
    Luke

  5. Dear Julie,
I just wanted to apologize for accidentally addressing my comment above to "Stephanie" instead of you. What a foolish oversight; I had just finished writing an email to my friend Stephanie and I still had that email on my mind. That's what happens when you spend too many hours at the computer! I'm sorry for the oversight!

    Cheers,
    Luke

What a neat widget and a great way to meet others in the adoption community! I've added this site to my blog roll.

  9. Hi Julie,
We have 3 biological kids and want to adopt at least two. We started our paperwork in 2008 and are still hoping to get our name out there to birth moms, so thanks for this idea. I'm always looking for new ways to show our fun family.

  10. We are brand new to this process! Headed for our 1st orientation meeting next week. We are going to hopefully adopt through our state waiting child program.
I don't have much about adoption on my blog yet, but will with time!
